How do you know if your doctor's office called in your prescription?

You can either call your doctor's office to verify this, or call the pharmacy you use. Otherwise, the pharmacy might notify you when they fill the prescription.

If you lose your percocets in PA can a doctor call to refill?

If you "lose" a prescription of any narcotic pain medication, the doctor will not call for a refill. Your doctor's office would even provide you with the same information, that they, nor the doctor, is authorized to refill a narcotic prescription in the event that the prescription was lost or stolen, even if you have a police report, they will NOT refill that prescription until it is due again to be refilled.

How do you cancel a prescription?

you call your doctor or the pharmacy.

You went to the doctor and she said you need to get some vaniqa cream but did not give you a presciption for it how can you get it without going back to her dont have the money to go back?

If you have already been evaluated you should be able to call the doctor's office back and request they call/fax in a prescription to the pharmacy for it or make out a copy for you to take to get the prescription filled.

Can a pharmacy technician accept called in prescriptions?

Generally yes. You must either have an active prescription on file with the pharmacy with refills, or the doctor's office must call it in.

How do you get lost medicine replaced out of state?

You can call your pharmacy at home and they can call the pharmacy in the state you are in and transfer your prescription. Then they will fill it. Or you could call your doctor and they can phone in a prescription to the new out of state pharmacy.

The patient is a 52-year-old male from out of state visiting. He left his medications for his benign hypertension at home and is now here in the clinic in need of a prescription. What to do?

He could call his doctor in his home state home and ask him to forward a copy of the prescription. He could get a doctor at the clinic to get him a few days supply. The best would be to have the pharmacy and/or a doctor call his doctor or the pharmacy that he uses to verify the prescription.

My prescription was stolen at work out of my purse. The Doctor's office said the doctor does not write a new script for a lost or stolen prescription. Is this standard practice?

Unfortunately it is. It really depends on the doctor and what the script was. If it was for like, benzo's (schedule iv) i.e. Xanax, klonopin, ativan, you call the police and make a report take it to your dr. And he/she will give you enough to last you till the script is up. But anything over a schedule ii may not because of dea laws and regulations. Sorry just try to whether it out. I never take my whole script with me but keep them locked away at home and just take out the days supply. Hope this helps.

How do I call in a prescription to a pharmacy?

First off, to "call in a prescription" you must be a valid Medical Doctor or representative. In the USA any Schedule 3 or above medication can be called in to a pharmacy. It would not be legal to disclose how to call one in, as you should know if you are able to.

Can a receptionist call in a refill prescription if the doctors says it's ok?

Office assistants, medical assistants, nurses, and even receptionists routinely call in prescriptions for patients under direct orders from the physician. I am a medical records clerk and call in dozens of prescriptions a day. Most pharmacies in my area know me by name and don't even ask what doctor's office I'm calling from.
