A low resting heart rate can be a normal condition, especially for someone who is relatively fit. The resting heart rate for many athletes is in the 40's and is often the result of an efficient heart.

If you have a low pulse rate and you aren't getting "light-headed" or dizzy, then it's generally not a problem. If you have any questions about YOUR pulse rate, it would be best to contact your doctor.

A normal pulse rate at rest is between 60 and 100 beats per minute. If you are an athlete don’t worry. Some blood pressure drugs will lower the heart rate. I would worry about anything under the 50′s when resting if not an athlete.

Yes. I have seen a patient with heart rate of 42 per minute. The old lady was on beta blocker and was apparently normal. The heart rate became normal after stopping the beta blocker.
