need more info... stellar athletes have low HR at rest. so do really heart sick people. but too low would be anything under 40 bpm. 40-60 is not too too serious and 60-100 is normal.

What happens to your heart rate when you run for 3 minutes?

Well, it depends on how fast you are running. If you are doing a typical jog (5MPH) your heart rate will slightly increase. If your doing a decent run/sprint (8-9MPH) your heart rate will rapidly increase. It also depends on how fit you are. If you are out of shape, your heart rate will increase faster. If you are fairly fit, your heart rate will take some time to rise. Hope I answered your question!

Is a 150bpm a normal heart rate?

Genuinely depends on your age and the level of exertion you are having. If you were a baby in the womb then this could be considered a normal resting heart rate. If you are doing strenuous exercise, this could again be a normal heart rate. However, in an adult a normal resting heart rate is usually between 60 - 100 bpm. A healthy resting heart rate is more likely between 60 and 70 bpm. A resting heart rate is when you are doing no activity, such as lying down. If your heart rate is 150bpm when you are at rest this could be a sign that you are pretty unhealthy. A resting heart rate this high should probably be checked out by a doctor as it could lead to health complications in the future.

How many times does a healthy heart beats per minute?

The average adult heart beat average is 70-75 beats per minute. Children have a higher rate in the 80's and 90's, depending on their age. The younger they are the faster the heart rate . Females, generally, have a slightly higher heart rate than males. Heart rate also depends on your age and what you're doing. A "resting heart rate"(sitting up, doing nothing) may/should be a bit lower, particularly for people in good physical shape. A "working heart rate"(walking around, standing etc) can/should be a bit higher. While working out/exercising, heart rate can/should rise quite a bit. The reference maximum heart rate for a healthy adult is 220 - your age in years, although individuals may differ. Don't try for max unless you know that you are healthy enough to take it.

I am 13 years old and even though your maximum heart rate is 220 - your age my heart rate reached 224 bpm. Does anyone know What is going on?

Your maximum heart rate is roughly (220 - your age) its nothing to worry about this is just an estimation its quite nromal for people to get the heart rate above 220. Although i wouldn't suggest doing it, it can damage your body rather than strengthen it =)Alex, 17.
