Well, it depends on how fast you are running. If you are doing a typical jog (5MPH) your heart rate will slightly increase. If your doing a decent run/sprint (8-9MPH) your heart rate will rapidly increase. It also depends on how fit you are. If you are out of shape, your heart rate will increase faster. If you are fairly fit, your heart rate will take some time to rise. Hope I answered your question!
The answer is dependent on how strenuous the run was, your age and physical condition, and how long after the run the pulse is taken. A 40 year old in moderate condition might reasonably work up a heart rate of about 140 on a run. That heart rate will decrease in the few minutes after the run but how quickly the decrease occurs depends on the individual. When a runner really overdoes the exercise, the heart rate may stay above 100 for quite a long time (10 minutes to an hour) after the run. Someone in great physical shape will have their heart rate almost back to the resting level in just a few minutes following a moderate run.

Of course it sure makes as you run, your body needs more blood and the need of more blood rises when you run that's why your heart rate beep faster when you run Why don't you do this experiment yourself and see the results??

To establish your "resting" heart rate.
run
Your heart rate increases as it has to pump oxygenated blood around the body.
A good aerobic workout heart rate depends on your age and weight but generally shoot for 120 to 130 heart rate. If you exercice for 30 minutes ( cardio ) and cannot reach a good rate you need to increase the difficulty of your workout. Other exercises like weightlifting and such are not meant to exercise your heart this way, only cardio exercise such as treadmill, elliptical, bicycle, or a good old fashioned run will help you reach this level. Most modern equipment that you will find in todays gyms have heart rate monitors built in and after a little programming can give you a target heart rate for cardio exercise, the trick is to get the heart rate up to that level and maintain it for the full 20 to 30 minutes. ------- The question was "What happens if the pulse rate does not increase during and after exercise?" The answer is that your body starts starving for oxygen, both arms start hurting, and soon you may start to feel faint. This is not an uncommon situation, and you need to get it checked out before you get too active.
I have tracked my heart rate at 125 beats per minute after sprinting. The normal heart rate at rest is about 55 for me.
