Yes, the new iPad still is usable with the Smart Cover.
It was first used in dogs and cats

The Smart Cover designed for the new iPad2 is the same size as the original iPad because the two iPads have the same size display. However, the Smart Cover is attached to the iPad 2 by magnets. The iPad 2 has magnets inside and so does the Smart Cover, there are 21 inside the iPad 2 and 10 more in the Smart Cover. However the original iPad has no magnets so there is no way to attach the Smart Cover to the original iPad. Some of the magnets play another role, the Smart Cover can wake and sleep the iPad 2 by opening and closing the cover. This is also done with some of the magnets. I would not try to use the Smart Cover on the iPad, it was not designed for that purpose and would be a poor substitute for a cover better intended for that purpose. Dah•veed Monterrey, Mexico
A smart cover (provided by Apple) is an IPad cover that can pose as a stand, or as a protection for the screen. Another great feature is that when you life the smart cover you IPad turns on, and when you close it the IPad goes to sleep. For more information you can watch the trailer on the Apple website, or search for it on YouTube.
Apple's own Smart Cover for the iPad is AU$39-$69 (neoprene or leather).
Both the iPad 2 and New iPad (3) use the same smart cover. They are $49.00 for the neoprene ones, and $79.00 for the leather ones in the US.
It will turn on automatically.

There is no such thing as a smart board notebook. However, there is a thing called the smart board that is invented by SMART Technologies. It can be used as a regular whiteboard or as a computer display and it is controlled by touch.
You can find smart board software at Smart tech.
No, because the new iPad has magnets and the older one doesn't.
