Yes, summer weight oil can get too thick in the cold and prevent the engine from turning over fast enough to start. This is a big problem in many diesel cars and trucks.
The question simply doesn't have enough information; but after all it is being asked in AUGUST so I seriously doubt thick oil is your actual problem. If the engine turns over too slowly to start, check out the starting circuit - battery, cables, starter solenoid, starter - and you'll probably find the problem (if slow cranking is the issue). Alternately, it depends on how the problem began (slow cranking). Could be a bearing almost seized up or some component in the serpentine belt drive that is already seized up (release tension on the belt to determine if that is the problem by releasing the idler (tensioner) pulley and dropping the belt loose before cranking. GOOD LUCK.
Temporarily, or ever? Disconnecting the battery would work if you want to do it temporarily. If you want to permanently disable the engine for some reason, drain the oil and replace it with sodium silicate solution, then run the engine until it seizes.
indeed it can it could a stop the car from cranking or b not send enough power to the coil, coil packs or ecu and in some cases the fuel pump relay all of which would cause the car not to start.
Changing the oil wont keep the car from starting. Changine the plugs will if you didn't put the wires back on in the proper location. The oil light will come on until the car starts and allows the oil pump to fill the filter and circulate the oil. Once started, the light should go out.
It is possible if it is stuck open, but highly unlikely.
Beeping or blinking lights indicate a problem within a car. In order to get the lights to stop, a person must fix the problem.
No, however, it does mean the air bags won't work if there is an accident
Car names starting with L include: Lincoln, Lamborghini, limousine, Le Car...
Not unless the engine has a low oil shutdown system. Which I have never seen on a car or truck.
Pulley stop truck from starting
no old oil will not stop a car beacause at least the car has oil
It would take a long time before the oil would sludge up to the point of not allowing the engine to turn over.
No, nor could oil in the gas.
if you have engine oil in your fuel injectors then you have bigger problems then your car not starting..
It wont stop starting, it will pump oil out of the turbo and discharge blue smoke.
No.
cmp snsr will not prevent the car from starting, ckp snsr would.
it shouldnt.
starter or alternator or water pump
