Cant lock the boot with key it wont turn to 3 o clock position All other locks ok UK passat 1.9tdi 1999 Any suggestions?

If the boot, or trunk cannot be locked with the key on a United Kingdom 1999 Passat 1.9 TDI, the lock might have rusted. Spray the lock with a lubricant such as WD-40 or any bolt loosening agent. There might also be something caught in the lock from the inside.
