Does a El Camino have a headlight relay?

In my research no early model el Caminos has a headlight relay. This goes for single or double headlights. Look up this website http://www.madelectrical.com/. This is a fantastic site that deals in nothing but relays. it will answer most of your questions.

How do you fix headlights that only turn on when it is light outside not when it is dark 1990 Cutlass ciera?

It's possible that the fact that it's light or dark has nothing to do with your headlight working or not working. Look into other causes of the problem: Such as: Is is wet outside?, How about overheating of the components surrounding your headlights?

Why do your 2003 Marquis headlights shut off after four minutes?

Your auto headlight switch only controls the delay after you turn off the ignition, if it's dark enough. The closer the pointer is to the 12 o'clock position the less time they will stay on, turn the switch more to the left and the headlights will stay on longer, up to 4 minutes. That switch has nothing to do with the sensitivity of the auto lamps, only the delay.

Why wouldn't a head light work after replacing the old bulb with a new one?

Bad wiring somewhere. Check the wires going into the headlight connector to make sure nothing is broken or loose. I'm not sure where the headlights ground, but I would certainly suspect a bad connection there too. Now, it IS possible that you got a bad replacement bulb. That's probably rare but could happen. You can find out by putting the new bulb (and maybe the old one too) in the headlight on the other side of the car. If one, or both work on the other side, it means that you definitely have a wiring problem.

Both the headlights on your 2002 VW Jetta went out at the same time is this likely to be a fuse issue or could both headlights really die together?

This is most likely an electrical issue, and may have nothing to do with fuses. If the headlight switch has failed, both headlights will be inoperative. On many cars, there are separate fuses for right and left headlights, so both of them failing at the same time is unlikely. Your best bet would probably be to take the vehicle to an automotive electrical specialty shop, and have them check it out. They will usually be able to find the problem in a few minutes, so the service chrarge is not likely to be extreme. If the headlight switch has failed, be ready to shell out some cash to buy a new one, because it will have to come from the dealer, unless you want some kind of ghetto rig that could fry your whole wiring system.

Headlight replacement 1999 Tahoe?

I have a 1996 Tahoe, but our's are the same model. You have to open your hood first. Above the headlights, and inside the hood, you will find bolts protruding vertically up at you. They will seem to be attached to nothing, and have nothing screwed onto the ends. I believe there are four of these, two on either side. You must unscrew all of them, which should allow for your headlights to pop out forward. It's been a while since I did these to mine, so there may be a step or two I forgot, that you (assuming you have any common sense with vehicles) should be able to figure out on your own.

Why could your headlights in your 94 Bonneville not be working and theres no fuse?

Bad circuit breaker. Bad headlight switch. Bad dimmer switch. Broken wire. Burned out bulbs. Get a volt meter. Check the headlight switch. See if you have voltage going into it and coming out of it. Can you turn on your tail lights and not your headlights? Can you turn on your parking lights? Do your dashboard lights go on? Can you hit the switch for your bright lights to go on when nothing else goes on? You should have a wiring diagram. Your headlights should have a circuit breaker that goes on and off if there is a bad circuit. It should make them flash so that you have a little light. Still, both bulbs should not be burned out at the same time. The first thing that I would do is see if anything happens if I pull out the headlight switch. If the dash lights do not go on, it is probably the switch. Still, I would check the wiring diagram. Then I would open the hood and look for a broken wire. Then I would look under the dash and look for a broken wire. Then I would get out my volt meter and would follow the headlight wire until I had voltage. Then I would know where the problem was.
