There are multiple causes of high idle on this application. They include throttle cable out of adjustment, IAC problems, evaporative emission failure, and vacuum leaks (among others). This is a critical safety issue due to the possibility of uncontrolled throttle and must be diagnosed and serviced by qualified mechanic.
Running at idle the book says 41-44. High 30s is ok.
Might be a vacuum leak
No it will not. It only controlls the idle of the engine.
idle air control could be bad!!
Check the alternator.
An engine usually has a higher idle speed when the ac is running. If the high speed idle does not operate then the ac will cause the engine to stall.
Could be your idle valve
Your Nissan may just idle high during the warm up of your engine. These cars are designed to do this based upon the fact the cars have an optimum running temperature. If they idle high when for the first 15 minuets it's to achieve that optimum running temp. If not then you may have a vacuum leak.
If this happened all at once, check the vacuum lines. A cracked or broken line will cause high or rough idle.
it controls idling of car engine, without it it will not idle..
if it's a carb. adjust your idle screw out.
on throttle body just before hose to air cleaner. it is black and has a 3 wire connector that goes to it,its round!!
