I have a 95 Grand Prix with the same problem,3.1 engine. I hope it is only a bad head gasket or gaskets and not the heads as they are not cheap. The problem i am having now is that the breaks seem to have locked up as if you were pressing on the brake pedal. If you know anything about this let me know.... if its a 3.8 or a 3.1 the are more common for the lower intake manifold gasket to go bad. to anser your question u either had one of three thing wrong and it could be the calipers are hanging up, the hoses have colapsed or the e-brake has frozen on.
You need to have it tested by a knowledgeable mechanic. They use some kind of blue liquid that should stay blue during the test. If it turns yellow, you have a problem. If your car is running hot and nothing else has solved the problem (thermostat, radiator flushed, leaking radiator, hose or pump..., you should have it checked.
Perhaps starter is weak. Have it tested for load and drag
Can be a hole in the radiator or a problem with one or more of the hoses. A mechanic can run a pressure test to see where the problem(s) are located at.
im not very knowledgable with volks but there may be a water pump problem, or a radiator problem,is the radiator circulated the cool water from iit to the block that has hot water in it?
if you can read voltage in the water of a radiator , then there is a problem and the water needs to be drained and flushed and new antifreeze installed . if you are using full strength antifreeze, it must be mixed 50/50 with distilled water only. never use tap water in a radiator ! Thanks Jim TAnother viewThere is a specific problem that can be checked with a volt meter, I do this every major service (spring and fall) I check coolant voltage with engine running to engine block and chassis. If you read more than the error level for the meter you have a ground problem and this is grounding through the cooling system and will damage the cooling system. Most likely the radiator
First of all, check the thermostat, the radiator fan, radiator hoses, water pump, radiator leaks. P.s. If you install a radiator fan universal and it don't place really close to the radiator, you can have that problem
Typical problem caused by a blocked radiator,i had a similar problem on my '94 ballade, had radiator cleaned out by specialists...solved my crisis now running into a full year without water spilling over.Good luck.
The radiator cooling fan will run to cool the radiator to below the fan turn on temperature. You may want to have your cooling system checked if it happens regularly as your Buick may be running hotter than normal when driving.
i checked the fuses and don't know if this is the problem---should i lood for somethin else?
try checking your cooloing fan. make sure it is running There is no air getting to your radiator as you are not moving! Or there is a problem elsewhere in your cooling system!
Bad water pump , problem with engine cooling fan ( if it is actually running hot and not a problem with the gauge or sending unit )
Your hamster may have a problem which is causing him diziness and confusion. I think it is just safest if you get him checked out by a vet.
