My 2 1/2 year old cat was outside in the night and when he came back in the mrning, he had various bite injuries near his lower leg region. I know that he got in a fight with the neighbours cat (who has all his shots) so my cat did not have to be tested for rabies. My cat has no shots. My cat appears to have a dislocated hip, we thought it would heal up, so we medication on his bite injuries and after a month his injuries were gone. However, his right lower leg hip appears to be broken? He can walk but puts hardly any weight on the leg and today, (1 1/2 months later) he is trying not to use his leg at all.
My question is, what are the costs for fixing his hip? (a general estimation). I come from a low income family so we cannot afford to pay that much money for his hip. Also, I do not wish to euthanize him or give him up. i always wished that he could go back to his farm (he lived near a farm area with low danger and low risk) and i want him to be free, not confined in some persons home

For a possible injury like that, it needs to be seen by a vet. An xray will probably be needed to see how severe the injury is and where. Prices will differ from vet to vet and will mostly depend on the area you live in, so it is difficult to provide a useful estimate. You could, however, contact several vets in your area and ask how much it would cost to treat your cat.
In the UK, people with low income can get help from animal charities whom help pay part of the cost. You can also talk to your vet to see if they can arrange some sort of payment plan for you (paying the amount over the course of a few months or so, for example). A good vet will be willing to help you and your pet.
