On average it is about 15 years, but I had an outside cat who lived till 21 and only ever went to the vets twice; to be spayed and to be put down. The first time was far too stressful for her and the vet, as she escaped and attacked every one in the room! She was treated like royalty, only given the best food (human and cat) and got to sleep in beds every night
