Call a ac repair man if the central air is freezing up. It more then likely is the coils are clogged which they have special chemicals to clean or it needs more Freon.
my copper lines freezing on central air unit.
If you mean freeze as in ice up it is probably low on freon.
If you are experiencing freezing on your air handler coil, you may want to check the freon charge to determine if it is correct. Assuming that your thermostat is operating properly, reduced air flow can also cause freezing. Check your filters and other possible blockages such as dirt on the interior coil.
sleet
It is sufficiently cold outside (where the outdoor unit sits) that the coolant returned to the indoor unit is freezing condensed moisture from inside. The ice will build up and probably freeze the condensation pump an you may end up with a little flood on your hands.
The evaporator coil is probably freezing up which will restrict airflow.
Central of course because it is larger.
It could be low or freon, or maybe dirt coils.
No, the air handler won't push enough air to keep the coil from freezing up.
My air unit was freezing up i took a brush very carefully and cleaned the A coil and washed it out it fixed my problem.
When you are running your air conditioner and it stops then the air conditioner is froze up. You have to cut it off for a while, and let it warm up. You have to turn the thermometer between 70-75 to keep it from freezing up.
You have to thaw it out.
