Remove the alternator belt by loosening the tensioner pulley. Remove the wiring from the alternator. Remove the retaining bolts to the alternator. Reverse the process to install the new alternator.

Sorry, I can't help you much on this one but, if you place both alternators side by side on a bench and the mounting and connections match up, go for it. I don't see a problem if the alternator is capable of producing more than the vehicle requires but, I could see a problem if the vehicle requires more than the alternator can put out.
