Head gaskets are changed on a 97 Chevy Blazer by removing all engine accessories, taking off the intake manifold, removing the valve covers, and taking out the retaining bolts. The heads can then be lifted, the gasket removed, and a new gasket put in place.

How do I change the head gaskets on my 1998 ford explorer?
see if your spark plug are wet, change oil, with new filter.
intake gaskets are between the head and intake. head gaskets are between the head and the block..
Yes you do halft to pull the head, because the gaskets are under the head.
theres no way you can change the head gaskets without taking off the intake manifold, its not hard to do. plus if your going to change the head gaskets it would only be smart to change the intake gaskets also.Answerand if your talking about the exhaust manifold, you did'NT specify, I'm sure you can but it will be no fun at all, plus u should change exhaust gaskets if your going to do all that work anyways so you don't have to worry about them down the road.
