The Mazda 1996 B2300 4 cylinder engine has 8 spark plugs. Looking at the ending from the front of the truck, there are 4 on the right side and 4 on the left.
The 4 on the left are easily accessed by removing the spark plug wires. You may also want to remove the air intake duct work if it makes things easier. The 4 plugs on the right side are a different side. The throttle body intake header mostly blocks access to these plugs and should be removed first. However, if you have enough patience and swivel sockets, you can remove and replace the 4 right side spark plugs without removing other parts first.

start with checking the coil packs wires sparkplugs
it is inside of the gas tank, you have to drop gas tank.
look under the alternator 1 inch and then to your right 2 inches. more or less.....
If it has a 4.0L V6 then it has an 8.8 (size of ring gear) if it has anything less of a motor it will be the 7.5 inch.
you need to replace the gas gauge sending unit in the tank, or your gauge is broken
