You have to first remove the transmission linkage. Take a screwdriver and put it between the ball and sleeve of where the cable hooks to the lever on the driver's side. Then remove the blue plug thing and the metal [-shaped clip. Then push the tabs in on the side toward the front, make sure to push them on both sides. Leave the white plastic clip alone. Then push the linkage all the way through the bracket and put it aside. You will need a speedwrench or just a regular ratchet and extension, and I believe a 7/16 socket for most of the bolts, and a 10mm socket for the 2 on the transmission linkage bracket. Then, starting at the front of the vehicle, remove the bolts one by one until you are down to 2 and Transmission Fluid is starting to spill out. Turn one out about half way, then slowly remove the other one, this will allow transmission fluid to spill out slowly without making a mess. Then, supporting the pan with one hand, use the other to completely remove the last bolt. Clean the pan and magnet thoroughly, and replace the pan gasket. The filter should come off fairly easily, but make sure that you replace the o-ring sealing it in as well. You may need a screwdriver to remove it. If your vehicle is 4wd, be VERY CAREFUL removing the pan, as it is difficult to do and you can easily damage a solenoid because they are exposed. Then replace the pan, bolt it back on (be careful not to tighten the bolts too much, they require only like 20 in/lbs. and are easily stripped. Then plug the transmission linkage back how it was, it should just click in place, and reattach the ball to the sleeve. I believe your vehicle takes around 4.5 Qts of Dexron
You might a drain plug then you wont have to worry about a mess. If you have an automatic then chances are it is a 4L60-E or 4L65-E either way it holds 5 qts. Just make sure you top it off when the trans. is fully warmed up & engine is running DONT OVER FILL Yes it is Dexron, but make sure it is Dexron III
you can change the fluid, but not the filter. drain the fluid from the drain plug on the bottom of the transmission and refill from the dipstick. the filter is only accessable by overhauling the transmission
