changing alternator belt on vauxhall corsa
If your 88 CRX SI alternator belt is making a strange intermittent noise shortly after changing the alternator what's wrong, the belt tension could be off. Adjust the belt slightly.
Changing the alternator or removing and installing the belt should not cause excessive stress or wear on the belts.
The alternator bolts need to be loosened so that the alternator can slide and take pressure off of the belt. Remove the old belt (any belts blocking passage may have to be removed as well.) Remove then replace the belt, and move the alternator to the side to tension the belt while tightening the bolt. Reconnect the battery.
To change alternator belt on a Suzuki Swift, first disconnect the negative cable from the battery terminal. Then disconnect the electrical wires going to the alternator and remove the bolts holding the alternator to the frame. Slip off the old alternator belt and replace with another. Finally, put back all the bolts and cables previously removed or disconnected.
Check volatages everywhere, there could be a short somewhere. Also, check the tension on the belt that drives your alternator. That belt might be slipping due to a faulty tensioner and not spinning the alternator fast enough.
sounds like the alternater squeling not the belt
Loosen the alternator tensioner bolt. The alternator belt will become loose. Remove the alternator belt. Put the new alternator belt on and reverse the process.
alternator drive belt?
Did you check if the belt is on the pullys right ? A belt that isn't on the groves right will cause a rubbing. or you might have a alternator with bad bearings. or the belt is to tight.
Yes, I know of no engine where the alternator is driven by the cam belt. The alternator is driven by a drive belt or serpentine belt.
