Not easy. Engine must be tilted forward to reach the back side plugs. Suggest a Pontiac 97 manual from most auto parts stores to follow proper procedure.
Rubbish you don't need to tilt anything. You will need a ratchet, a spark plug socket and a pivoting socket adapter. It may be difficult to remove the wire boots but it can be done. You MUST be on the left side of the car as the plugs are orientated towards the passenger side.

If the engine is a 5.4L then the spark plugs are underneath these long wire caps. They sit deep in the engine so be careful when changing you can easily get them crossthreaded. They don't have much thread that goes into the hole.
