Chauhan belong to Agni Vinshi Clan of Rajput (Ariya). Vasudeva Chauhan was first Samrat (Empirore/Sultan) ruled from 551 CE - 684 CE and Prithviraja-III Chauhan was the last Samrat (Empirore/Sultan) ruled from 1177–1192 CE.

Vasudeva Chauhan and Prithviraja-III Chauhan belong to Pawar (Panwar) Gotra of Chauhan family. Chauhan Rajput (Ariya) has many Gotras among them Major Gotras are Pawar (Panwar), Gujjar, Latheek, Chhajlee, Bhatti and Padhiyar.

The Hairhi Chauhans of Sambhar or Chauhans of Ajmer migrated by calling themselves as Labana (Note: Labana were merchant who traded commodities from one place to another place in the form of caravan) from Rajisthan toward Sindh and first stayed at Auroor (Rohri-Sindh) in 1192 after invaders Shahbuddin Ghori of Afghanistan defeated and killed to Prithviraja-III Chauhan.

Prithviraja-III Chauhan had 2 sons named Govindraja and Ramdev, Ramdev migrated along with fisrt the caravan inclded many tribes of chuahan gotra under the leadership of Gujjar Gotra Chauhan Minister of Govindraja Chauhan toward Sindh by calling themselves as Labana. After almost one year Govindraja also migrated towards Sindh in 1193 by handing overed kindom to his uncle Hariraja Chauhan younger brother of Prithviraja-III Chauhan. GovindrajaI Chauhan joined his family and other Chauhan Families at Auroor (Rohri-Sindh) and lived in Chhaho Labano Tanda (Village) in present day Tehsel Lakhi Ghulam Shah, District Shikarpure, Sindh-Pakistan and called himself as Govindraja Labana along with all also called themselves as Labana.

Govindraja Labana (Chauhan) had one son named Viram Labana (Chauhan) after deat of his father Viram Labana (Chauhan) converted in Islam by given name Viryam Khan Labana in 1218. Viryam Khan Labana had a son name Jam Khan Labana later his familay called by Jam Family. Jam Khan Labana family also famous with the name of Madoo and called by Madoo Pawar of Labana (Cahuhan).

Prithviraja-III Chauhan other son named Ramdev Chauhan who migrated with the first caravan setteled along with his family and some other Chauhan family in Tulamba present day Tulamba Town, Tehsel Mian Channu, District Khanewal-Punjab. Ramdev Chauhan and family ruled in Tulamba till Sher Shah Suri era.

Ramdev Chauhan family called as Sahoo Panwar-Chauhan. The famous Islamic scholar Mulana Tariq Jameel Belongs to his family.
