Whenever you want to ship something to either Alaska or Hawaii, the cheapest way will always be the United States Postal Service. Priority Mail will be the fastest, with delivery generally in 3 days, and Parcel Post the cheapest, with delivery in approximately 11 days. Carriers like UPS and FedEx will be almost 4 times as much as Priority Mail.
This is not always the case. We ship lots of boxed training materials, and in the most recent instance, the quote from FedEx was $255.50, from UPS $284.31, and from USPS, more than $500. In shipping boxes, I have seldom found that USPS is cheaper than UPS.

If you have time to spare, then Parcel Post by the USPS will be the cheapest. If speed is more important, then Priority Mail is your best choice. Stay away from UPS or FedEx, as it will cost you your first born. If it is something that is heavier (more than 70 lbs) or larger than what the USPS will accept, then go through a freight forwarder. This is a common problem for people who live in Alaska, and also in Hawaii, because not all merchants will ship via USPS, so sometimes it's challenging to find an affordable shipping solution.
