check both of your pulleys,they have marks on them.
This depends on wich engine is in the vehicle. The 1.6 and 2.0 petrol are timing chains. the 2.0 and 2.3 diesels have belts. the timing marks are as follows: 2.0 diesel: cam and injection pump marks should be at 11 o'clock. crankshaft mark at 2 o'clock with keyway at 12 o'clock. 2.3 diesel: same as 2.0 diesel. There are no timing marks, the crankshaft must be TDC and the camshafts have cuts on the end the cut looks central but it isn't, the low side goes to the bottom and should be locked in place.
