There are no timing marks, the crankshaft must be TDC and the camshafts have cuts on the end the cut looks central but it isn't, the low side goes to the bottom and should be locked in place.
Timing marks determine if the car is set on TDC(Top Dead Center). Just to make sure it is in time use a Timing Light. The timing marks are located on the sprocket under the valve cover and on the crankshaft. Timing marks determine if the car is set on TDC(Top Dead Center). i have a mazda 1994 626 v6 24 valve car and i think the timing belt just broke where are all the timing marks crank shaft and cams?
I don't have pictures. There are six pulleys that the belt goes around. There are timing marks on the valve cover toward the timing belt on the front and on the rear. From the rear the marks are two o'clock and ten o'clock. Then two o'clock ten o'clock on the front valve cover. On the crank, it's at one o'clock. However there are marks to show all the timing marks. If changing the timing belt, start on the front and back around the rear down to the crank shaft.
If the marks on the sprockets line up with the plated links, the timing is correct.
