I just did this yesterday. The dealer wanted about $120 to change this bulb. You can change it yourself in a few minutes. Another dealer told me they had to replace the entire cluster for over $500. I purchased the replacement bulb from the dealer parts department for about $6. You could probably find this cheaper elsewhere if you look. The only easy way to do this is while you are sitting in the drivers seat. 1. Set the parking brake. The reason will become clear in a little bit. 2. Above the instrument cluster you will find two black screws going up. The head of the screw faces down. Remove both of these. 3. Centered at the bottom, between the steering column and the cluster, is a black piece of plastic that seems loosely attached. Lift up on the side closest to you. You should see a green plastic clip (color may vary). Once you have cleared this clip, pull out the black plastic piece you are holding. Note how two prongs of this go under the instrument cluster for later re-installation. 4. You will now see two more screws, one on either side of the green plastic clip. Remove these as well. 5. Now, for the tricky part, remove the large black plastic piece that the screws were holding in. To do this, turn on the left turn signal, tilt the steering wheel down, insert key in ignition, and shift out of park. (Remember I had you set the parking brake?) This will give you just enough room to pull this plastic piece out, and towards you left. 6. You should now see yet four more screws, one in each corner of the instrument cluster. Place your index finger at the end of the screwdriver so you can hold the screw as you unscrew each one. Be careful not to drop the screws down into the dash. 7. Turn off the ignition if you haven't done so already. With the screws removed, lift the instrument cluster towards you. At the top back of the cluster is a cable that plugs into it. Lift up on the red / orange release, and then squeeze the black tab above and behind the release. The cable should easily unplug. 8. On the back of the instrument cluster locate the short grey cylinder behind the instrument whose bulb you wish to replace. That is the base of the bulb. This turns a few degrees to release the bulb. (Take a look at the new bulb to see how it turns.) You may need a pair of pliers to turn it, but be careful not to damage the circuit board. 9. Install the new bulb. Make sure the new bulb latches in place. 10. Plug the instrument cluster back into the dash, and press down on the red / orange release tap to re-latch it. 11. Set the instrument cluster in place. 12. Turn on the ignition and headlights to verify the new bulb works as expected. 13. Turn off the ignition and reassemble. Be careful reinstalling the screws, as you do not want to drop them down into the dash. You may need to adjust the steering wheel tilt and shift it out of park again to get all the pieces in.
The mileage is stored in the BCM not the cluster, so you can replace the cluster without changing the odometer reading.
Yes, the mileage is stored in the body computer.
remove the trim panel around the instrument cluster then remove cluster. On the back of instrument cluster are the bulbs just turn them half a turn and they come right out.
There is a message in the cluster. Common messages are door open, oil change due, lights on,
.
Behind the instrument Cluster. Or remove it and replace the Cluster.
No, the mileage is stored in the body and engine computers. No, the mileage is stored in the body and engine computers.
When the system in the cluster says it is time.
You have to replace the entire instrument cluster
It may need a new fuse.
Are you talking about the temperature gauge in the instrument cluster? You can change that through the settings menu in the i.c.
