When a person is under the influence of drugs he losts his mind and can't be sensible . The drugs are affecting our cerebrum ,where we are controlled. The addiction of drugs cause early death .The drugs makes our lungs to swell and our kidney to be inactive ..........But some suggest that a little drink is good for health.........
Evil? Addiction can be found in anything. Psychological addiction can range from someone addicted to cookies or someone snorting cocaine. Drug addiction doesn't effect society to a degree that needs to be worried about. Alcohol is more of a problem then all the illegal drugs.
To make it short and simple. Someone can be more addicted to plucking their eyelashes then taking a line of cocaine.
Drugs are not bad, if not meant to be misused. As we don't want to see a society full of drug addicts. Teenagers are more likely attracted to these evils and they can't see the future ahead of them, but elders can have a bird eye view of the future of their youngsters who are engaged in these sorts of activities. Living life to its full does not mean to enjoy it by every mean whether good or bad. More and more drugs are being manufactured but for the cure Not for the pleasure. It is us who should realize that the misuse of these can lead all of us to a disastrous situation.
Edit: You've missed the point. Drugs ARE affecting our society. Teenagers are not to blame it is the pharmaceutical companies (who create them) and corrupt doctors who prescribe the painkillers, anti-depressants, and sleep aids that people in actuality don't really need. You can't assume that everyone who goes into the doctor's office is going to take the pill by the directed dose. So control it... have them come in and have them take it right there, that way even if addiction did occur they couldn't exacerbate it. But of course this will never happen because it's too unreasonable... but hey, I guess leaving 80mg Oxycontin in your bathroom for your kids to find is working out fine.
Drug abuse affects society in many ways. It takes people and turns them into criminals at times. It can also affect family, which affects many people as a whole.

It depends on whether the drug abuse hurts others, such as by violence or theft. If the "abuse" is done privately and doesn't affect others, it's a victimless crime and society should take no role.
How can we break the cycle of addiction when it continues to destroy lives around us?

Alcohol is by far the most abused drug. It's also one of the few addictive drugs that people who 21 and over can buy over the counter. Most people do not view it as a drug, despite the devastating consequences of alcohol abuse.
From the perspective of social conflict theory, substance abuse is primarily a problem of structural inequality and class conflict. While substance abuse is generally omnipresent throughout society, social conflict theory argues that minorities, the lower class and other marginalized groups are more likely to disproportionally suffer negative consequences as a result of substance abuse.
