It can. It is based on the individual. I have bladder issues. The urologist suggested that I watch my citric acid consumption(not the only thing I do for my issues). It is naturally occurring in fruits but it doesn't mean that it doesn't effect you. Like anything is based on the individual. I love fruit. The doctor gave me a list of foods that are high in citric acid. She then told me to eliminate all of them. Then one at a time consume them in small amounts to see what effected me and how. It helped to control urine leakage and urgency.
