You need to clean the laser lens.
yes because the cd and the dvd is the same., and it can clean them both.
floppy disk.
Again a lens cleaner will work.
No, it is not possible to clean a CD player to much.
the lens can't read your disc. either the lens is dirty or the disc is dirty and/or scratched. for the lens, they have a special cd lens cleaning cd. for the cd, if it is just dirty, you can clean it with a soft paper towel and some glass cleaner, or mild soap and water. if it is scratched, there is also disc cleaning kits that do a decent job of removing scratches. if the scratches are too severe however, they will not come out
One reason that your CD player keeps ejecting your CDs without playing them is that is needs to be cleaned. Use a cleaning disc to clean the player. It could be the CD lens is dirty or scratched, which often means you need a new player.
You can use any DVD player cleaning kit to clean your CD player, or just use isopropyl alcohol.
Inside or outside? Outside is pretty direct. A damp cloth usually does the trick. If the inside is dirty, I'd buy a CD lens cleaner and use it. That will solve any crud on the lens problems. If the inner workings have become dirty due to blowing dust or something, You may have to yank it out and have an auto audio shop clean it up for you. FriPilot
The factory CD player is notoriously bad about reading CD's that are in any way damaged. You can try cleaning the lens using a CD lens cleaner. It's worth it in the long run to replace the CD player though.
Try rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip. Make sure no cotton fuzzies stay behind, and do not dry it, just let it evaporate.
