it is the door alarm
Turn on the signal and listen for the clicking noise. If it is still clicking occasionally then you can follow the noise and feel where it is located. If it has totally stopped then look on top of the steering column behind the steering wheel.
The drive shaft may need to be tightened

sounds like a front wheel drive with bad cv joints, which are your drive shafts going to both front wheels.
the steering wheel wont make the front wheels make noise as there is no generating source from the steering wheel. it will be the other way around.
Check the fluid in the power steering. If it is low the car will make noise when you turn the wheel.
