I don't know what the lesson was- but this may be helpful:
I am going to compare and contrast a Monarchy and a Dictatorship.
MONARCHY- Yes, a monarchy is ruled by someone, but like a king or queen. The people of a monarchy have little say in anything, but more than people of a dictatorship.
DICTATORSHIP- This is where one person has complete control over the people. The dictator normally passes his or her (most often his) place to his son (or possibly daughter).
BOTH- They both are types of government where one person has almost all, or all, control of everyone.
HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL~ Anonymous :)
I assume you are taling about what I think you are so i'll just copy-paste a more relevant answer:
Iran's government is similar to ours, with cabinets and branches. Turkey's political system is based on a separation of powers. India is a "Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic Republic" with a parliamentary system of government. Saudi Arabia is a monarchy. ! ~Jordan
Compare and contrast the three branches of the Arizona state government with the three branches of the federal government.
The function of the three branches of the US federal government is to write, interpret and enforce laws. One might begin to compare/contrast by determining how they are empowered individually to accomplish these goals.
Iran has a government similar to the democratic republic of the United States. The government in Turkey is based on separation of powers. Indian government is a secular democratic republic and Saudi Arabia is a monarchy.
ydhdjdzzjs Compare, means to take two or more items, and look at how different or similar they are, either by how they are made, what they contain etc. Contrast is virtually the same except that it can be used artistically, eg the difference between dark and light shades is contrast....gosh isn't English difficult !!
i think the answer was that African Americans could choose what sides to be on. and that's all i think the answer is (:
When studying space in school, you might be asked to compare and contrast the moons that were discussed in a chapter. What they want you to do is to write about the way the moons are all the same and the things they have that make them different from each other.
Signal words for compare and contrast include "similarly," "on the other hand," "in contrast," and "in comparison." These signal words help readers understand the relationship between different ideas or points being discussed in a comparison or contrast.
compare is when you compare two things that are the same and contrast is when you compare two things that are different.
The moods of the speakers are different, and you would contrast them in a compare-and-contrast.
