Korea was a remake of WWII; fought with the same weapons (minus the jets); and lasted about the same time...3 yrs.
Vietnam was a whole new ball of wax. A whole slew of new weapons and equipment; and it lasted a lot more than 3 yrs.

Vietnamese have street gangs whereas Koreans have " Korean Mafia or Korean-Japanese Mafia" . Vietnamese street gangs are " Turf" oriented whereas Korean Mafia is just business oriented. As long you don't interfer Korean Mafia business pretty much they leave you alone.
