There are several possibilities but I'd start with the power supply. Test it before you replace it.

I unplugged the Actiontec. I took the green phone line out of the wall plug. I plugged the Actiontec back in again. I plugged the phone line in the wall again. It started working again!

I hope you mean the monitor, because the only thing I can easily think of that would cause the actual computer to start unexpectedly flickering is it being on fire. You haven't really given us enough details. However, if you can't figure it out on your own, you should probably take it to a computer professional to have a look at it. There are lots of things that could cause the monitor to flicker, including "the monitor is going bad", and they have all kinds of different remedies.
The Map sensor tells the fuel injector how much fuel the engine needs. If not plugged in, it might start and run for a few seconds, since it usually runs rich to start, but then the computer will not know how much fuel to output, therefore it will stall
