Title of the Project
LEARN, ACT AND LEAD@PROJECT WWW (Why Worry Waste).2011:
A NON-BIODEGREDABLE WASTE MANAGEMENT PROJECT
Short Description:
This PBL activity is designed to provide Third Year students an opportunity to demonstrate understanding of concepts in the conduct of investigation of what are the non-biodegradable wastes in the school, identifying the composition and effects of non-biodegradable waste that undergoes chemical change, evaluate evidences of chemical changes(Science), collection, analysis and interpretation of data (Mathematics), organize and outline information for graphical presentation (English), create innovative presentations of data gathered for a webpage publication(CP-TLE), and generate a reflection in a rap song composition on the importance and benefits of waste management in the school (VALED). The students are expected to formulate an action plan on non-biodegradable waste management that could be a basis for an austere implementation.
Subjects and Concepts:
English: Demonstrate the ability to use varied ways of organizing information such outlining and graphic representation.
Science: Identify the composition and effects of non-biodegradable waste that undergoes chemical change andevaluate evidences of chemical changes.
Values Education: Generate a reflection in a rap song composition on the importance and benefits of waste management in the school.
Technology & Livelihood Education: Demonstrate the understanding of the process and delivery in the operations of creating a tabular presentation of data, use of formula and functions in the calculation of numerical representation and formulation of business proposal.
Mathematics: Collect, analyze and interpret data of the survey conducted of the non-biodegradable waste.
General Activities Flow
Student Activities:
§ Investigate what are the non-biodegradable wastes in the school and determine how seriously affects the school as a learning environment
-Students will use the teacher- made checklist
-Collect, analyze and interpret data of the survey conducted of the non-biodegradable waste.
-Identify the composition and effects of non-biodegradable waste
§ Make and implement an action plan for the non-biodegradable waste
§ Publish on a free web host site best practices during the implementation
For Administrators:
§ Convene the School Governing Council: Principal, Teacher Association Representative, School Federated Parent Representative, SGG Representative formulate scheme/policy non biodegradable waste management.
§ Invite the Chairman of Waste Management Committee of the LGU to conduct a seminar workshop on waste management with the students

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the project, Students are expected to make an action plan on non-biodegradable waste management to be implemented in the school.
Biodegradable materials will rot, weather, or rust and 'return to nature'. Wood, paper, and even most metals are biodegradable to various degrees. Nonbiodegradable materials will not break down naturally. Most plastics and synthetic materials are nonbiodegradable.
Only Plastics are non biodegradable. because the molecular bond between them is so strong hence it is difficult to break it hence it is non biodegradable
Yes.
We are the only organisms that we know of that can understand and apply scientific knowledge to create nonbiodegradable substances.
its plastic
Fresh Step is made with natural nonbiodegradable compounds. Some of the litter is made of clay which is not an organic material. Their website says the litter is safe to usel.
No, paper will biodegrade (it is an organic material).
Litter or trash that can not be recycled by biodegradation can be disposed of in a few ways. Simple trash is often "garbage" and goes to landfill sites. Some materials will burn but do not biodegrade well and then incineration is an option. Recycling is the most obvious way to effectively deal with materials whether or not they are biodegradable.
it is a nonbiodegradable substance, it corrodes, slowly.
Nonbiodegradable waste is basically "trash that doesn't decompose naturally". Meaning that bacteria will not break it down and turn it into topsoil. Thinks like banana peels will decompose very quickly, thus they are biodegradable. But plastics, foams, and metals will not decompose, thus they are nonbiodegradable.
So it can...um, BIODEGRADE PERHAPS?!
biodegradable nonbiodegradable are produce in the market
