I had the same problem with a 1999 Expedition and it was a bad plug. Ford had a problem also with the plugs blowing out. It cost me about 1200.00

Under 20 dollars just make sure you have the right information as you will get wrong thermostat, and is very easy to change out. under radiator cap is where the thermostat is located and there are 2 bolts that hold it in.
The actual parts cost about $4.00 to $8.00 but if you have a mechanic change it for you expect to pay around $70.00 in labor.

You would have to call your local parts store for prices. Temperature Gauge Sending Unit The sending unit is located in the front section of the manifold in the vicinity of the thermostat.
It depends on the area you live in and the hourly rate. It will pay about 1 hour labor. The thermostat will be about $15.00 for a quality one and whatever antifreeze is needed.
I had mine replaced and the cost of the thermostat and housing was $48.67 without the cost of labor.
Bring it to a shop that has an ABS scanner. They may tell you that the computer in the car is shot. That's what happened in my 1997 expedition and it will cost about 1600 to fix it. Note: until you get it fixed, it won't pass inspection.
