It is important to have the defrosters working in a car for safety reasons. For the defrosters not to work, a fuse could be blown or the wiring could be burnt.
The bulb could be 'blown'. Remove the working bulb from the other light and try it in the socket of the one that isn't working.
If the engine fan is working then you could have a defective thermostat or a blown head gasket.
Test all the fuses in the fuse box that's on the driver side of the dash , it could just be a blown fuse.
If the windshield wipers are not working in a 1998 Ford F150, the cause could be a blown fuse. There could also be a problem with the vacuum hoses connected to the wiper motor or the wiper motor itself.
