Could a hawk have picked up a little 6 pound poodle and how far would it have taken her and did she suffer long?

Some hawks can attack small domestic dogs, if they are desperately hungry, there are several cases of Cooper's Hawks attacking Jack Russels and Chihuahuas. However in all of these cases the birds were unable to carry the dog away. In the case of a missing poodle, I suspect it's more likely a human carried it away than a bird of prey.
