There is a stop safety relay switch in the transmission. If it goes bad then the vehicle will cut off as soon as you take it out of park and put it in gear. It can be accessed fairly easily and replaced faster than changing a tire.
Could be a fuel delivery problem, start with replacing the fuel filter.
it could be weak spark plugs.
starter module or fuel filter
It means that there is something wrong with the engine and not the battery
My 94 Lumina APV (3.8L) would not start (when warm) - cranked but acted as if no spark or fuel. Mechanic replaced computer @ $350 (said too many error codes to diagnose problem) - did not resolve problem. Then he replaced the camshaft position sensor (CMP) @ $125 - that solved the problem. PB
antiteft will need to be disabled.
i don't know lol
Could be vapor locking, and or it could be the ignition control module inside of the distributor (vary common).
I have a 92 lumina euro that did that and it turned out to be my crank sensor. The problem could also be the Torque Converter Clutch, bad plugs and wires, distributer cab, low idle could cause this to.

Torque convertor could be defective siezed up.
could be the fuel pump or regulator or the fuel pump could be plugged. if it turn key starts, there's enough pressure but if it dies, fuel is not getting to the motor.
