Yes it often causes the engine light to come on . You need to disconnect the battery for about two min then reconnect the battiery this will reset the computor, If it comes back on then you probly have a bad o2 sensor.
The 95 models did not have the spider on them. It was a TBI / Throttle body injection system. If your engine is a vortec, Then no it can't be cleaned.
