I have never heard of vitamin C causing low Back pain. In fact high doses of C are often used to help relieve lower back pain if the cause involves weakened spinal discs. Other very common causes for lower back pain are the bladder or kidneys. A "bladder backache" is generally one that gets worse when you sit or lay down for awhile and then gets a little better as you get up and walk around.
