Could you be pregnant if an hpt was negative but your cycle is due in about 2 days and today you had cramping and your back ached and you had light pinkish blood but then it stopped?

It is possible you are pregnant. I would wait a week after the expected cycle before testing. Sometimes the HcG levels are not high enough to be read. Even if a test says it can read it some odd days before your cycle, it depends on how much HcG it can read. Your best test to take before your cycle is one that will read as low as 20 HcG. Some HPTs only read higher amounts of HcG(25 and up). In some women, they don't have a high amount of the HcG until they've missed a period.
