Unless there were unusual circumstances as to why you broke up with you ex boyfriend/girlfriend, then you really should give yourself a couple of months to reflect on what went wrong and if any of it was your fault. Sometimes people aren't ready to settle down with another person and perhaps they want to get on with a career, go to college or travel. You have to be honest with yourself. Sometimes people have problems with a one-on-one relationship because of past problems, so they keep on rebounding from one person to the other. What we have to remind ourselves always is .... we are hurting that other person because we haven't dealt with ourselves. If it's been a couple of months or more, then no, it's not a rebound effect.
