I had the similar problem with my Jeep 1999 grand Cherokee cruise control not working the gates for the interior worked fine just no cruise control, looking at the other respondence I found that the vacuum hose off the control unit was bent going to a auto parts store and bought a slight bit longer hose and is now working fine I was ready to replace the whole unit. the other thing is the upper radiator hose looks to be 1½" on both ends it is not the NAPA hose calls for #9117 and states it is same on both ends which is 1½" the correct one is from pep-boys Dayco 1-15/32" slight bit smaller and works much better and cheaper.
Yes
Yes.
No, the base model did not have cruise.
I am not sure what you mean by reconfigured. If the cruise is not working the first things to check are the vacuum supply to the servo and to check the pcm for trouble codes.
Maybe the cruise control is set to the on position unknowingly.
If a 1999 Jeep Wrangler dash gauge stops working, check the fuse. The fuse may have blown out and will need replaced.
i just had the same problem with mine, could never get it, then i figured out that you have to be in 5th gear and then turn it on press set and youre good to go..
The cruise is fed by the engine computer. If the engine starts and runs, it is not a blown fuse.
LeftLeft
It wasn't selected as an option when ordered from the factory.
go to the dealer ship
The cruise control is fed by the engine computer through the brake light switch. It does not have a separate fuse.If the engine runs and the brake lights work, it is not a fuse.
It controls all aspects of the engine, alternator, air conditioning, cruise control.
