The word "Valentine" does appear in Romeo and Juliet: it is the name of Mercutio's brother. "Valentine" here does not necessarily refer to the love-connotations associated with St. Valentine's Day, although they might. One of the main characters in Shakespeare's early play The Two Gentlemen of Verona is called Valentine because he is a true lover. There are lines in both Hamlet and A Midsummer Night's Dream which show that in Shakespeare's time St. Valentine's Day was associated with love and lovers. However, since Mercutio's brother is no more than a name on a guestlist, his name is probably not significant in that way.
