∙ 14y agoMost of the time, a BS in biology is simply used as a requirement for continued education. Many graduate schools and medical schools accept Biology degrees as prerequisites. Most biological or health-care based companies offer tuition benefits for continued education to reflect this. I've got a BS in biology and didn't really have any idea what to do with it. I was a high school teacher, a biomedical researcher, and a lab manager before becoming a pathologist's assistant. You also pretty much qualify for any entry level lab tech job you apply for. Pay usually starts pretty low but rises exponentially as you increase experience and education. Don't focus on what options are open to you; that simply means you haven't really figured out what you want to do yet. figure out whatever it is you really want to do and focus on the requirements you'll need from there.

Be sure to get boating and SCUBA experience, as well. Then your good background in undergraduate biology, along with these summer experiences, will make you a good candidate for graduate school.
