DNA is a chemical, the initials stand for deoxyribonucleic acid. It can form a variety of structures, but in the chromosomes it takes on the interesting structure of the double helix (two helices winding together in opposite directions). These helices form long strands which are then folded up into tangles, in the cell nucleus. It's not very neat, but it works anyway.
Watson and Crick
DNA is composed of two strands of DNA nucleotides, arranged into a double helix, often referred to as a twisted ladder. The sides of the ladder are composed of alternating deoxyribose sugar molecules and phosphate molecules, and the rungs of the ladder are the pairs of nitrogen bases. The two strands of DNA nucleotides are held together by hydrogen bonds which form between the paired nitrogen bases.
That is the nucleus. it is made of heredity material made of DNA and it carries on the functions of life.
Rosalind Franklin made an X-ray crystallography showing a DNA molecule. Then, Watson and Crick used hers to create their own model using DNA's structure. Their model is still correct today and many people use it and look at it for reference.
DNA looks like a ladder that has been twisted into a spiral. This shape is referred to as a helix shape.

DNA in the human genome is arranged into 24 distinct chromosomes. It is because of DNA's natural structure. DNA is composed of nucleic acids and it looks like a twisted ladder or a double helix.

Chromosomes are an organized structure of DNA and protein that is found in cells.
