I answered this exact question the other day so we will try to do it again. As with anything, you have to learn to go with the flow. Some managers like to manage one way, other managers do it another way, you find where you fit in and go with it. If you find that you don't fit in, then best you look for another job. If you and your manager don't or can't get along, why bother working in misery.
