well you can't shoot somebody with it. i know that for a fact! You can defend your home with it (and thereby shoot someone with it.) 0.50 is the highest modern handgun caliber allowed by Federal law; black powder size varies from state to state.

Is a 44 magnum as powerful as a desert eagle 50?

The 44 magnum accuracy is improved for longer range, but the 50ae projectile is far more damaging.

Is the desert eagle hard to shoot?

Moderately. Heavy handgun, significant recoil, but less than many large caliber revolvers. This also depends on what caliber round you are using. The Desert Eagle can be modified to fire several different rounds, but in this case we'll use the standard 50AE round. The recoil on this is serious so you need to be ready for the jump or it will either fly out of your hand, or kick back into your face. As always proper training and technique is key. Train hard, train often, train safe. Lance Corporal Skyler Harris MOS#0332

What is the most powerful semi automatic handgun?

Arguably the IMI Desert Eagle in .50 AE.wrong to this day the most powerful handgun in production is the Austrian Pfeifer Zeliska it fires a .600 nitro express round ,this is a bullet favoured by big game hunters to down large prey such as elephants and rhino.Wrong again. The question is "What is the most powerful semi automatic pistol". The Pfeifer Zeliska is a single shotrevolver. There are some Wildey's out there that are fairly large (475 Wildey Mag) that are on par ballistic-ally with the Desert Eagle .50AE but the DE is the largest production semi auto.

Could someone survive a gunshot to the head with a Desert eagle. 50AE?

Possible, but the odds are less than even. Large caliber weapons kill from impact, blood loss, and concussion, and head wounds often involve severe brain damage. Some people do miraculously survive the type of massive trauma inflicted, but recovery is often lengthy and incomplete.

Can you shoot a 50 cal desert eagle with one hand?

Yes you can, however it takes a decent amount of arm/wrist strength to take the the recoil from the round. You need to understand the term free recoil first, which is often misunderstood. Free recoil is the kinetic energy transmitted to the shooter after firing a round. The amount of energy transmitted will vary from different caliber rounds. In this case we're talking about the Desert Eagle, and since this gun can be modified to hold several types of ammo, we'll stick to the standard 50AE bullet. This recoil is serious, You will need a bit of muscle and know how to position your body correctly in order to take the recoil. If you cannot control the recoil it will fly out of your hand, or possibly kick back into your face. In the best case scenario, the gun will jam as a result of not completing the action. But to answer you question, Yes, you can fire a Desert Eagle with one hand with the proper training and technique. Although it is not as easy as the movies make it out to be. As always, the best advice is training, and always gaining what knowledge you can from experienced shooters. Train hard, train often, and train safe. I've also included some links to a few videos where you can actually see a professional shooting a Desert Eagle 50AE with one hand. You will see it can be done, but only if your an experienced shooter and know what to expect.

What is the max sentence on a first time gun charge in mass with a desert eagle?

{This depends on the local and state laws in effect where the crime occurred.}The weapon being a Desert Eagle (Magnum Research) means nothing. The fact that it is handgun does. They come in .357 Magnum, 44 Magnum and 50AE ; a 22 handgun and a 50AE handgun are the same in the eyes of the law: they are either legal or not based on the state or whether the state has a concealed carry license. There are stronger handguns that are faster to use and more powerful { 0.500 Magnum Revolver }, these are for fun: having something most people don't.There is a faulty assumption that a 'Desert Eagle' is meant for 'only killing humans' {grrrr CSI - wrong!} when in fact professional killers are most often known to use .22 up to the base of the head. The large calibers used in the Desert Eagles are too loud and unwieldy for assassin work. When fired rapidly (1 per sec) a DE is totally inaccurate and basically useless for defense. A rate of fire of 1 every 2 seconds is more controllable, but for most users 1/3 secs would allow necessary accuracy. {A bolt action rifle can be fired faster, 3 shots per every 2 secs.}A Desert Eagle costs between $900 and $2500, not something you would want taken from you for any time (as happens when a shooting event occurs, police take the gun.) The cost of using the weapon is prohibitive: about $0.30 per shot for .357, $0.45 per .44, and just under $0.70 per .50AE**. A magazine therefore would be $2.40, $3.60 and $4.90. Practice (at least 10 magazines a month) = $24.00, $36.00 and $49.00.If the 'fact' that it is for 'killing only' is misstated, it can be pointed out that a semi-automatic weapon is the same thing as a revolver with extra chambers: 7 or 8 or 10 rather than 5 or 6. The caliber means nothing - either the gun is legal or not.** From personal experience, a Desert Eagle's slide is so heavy that low cost ammunition will not cycle the action and the bullets become jammed: only premium ammunition will allow semi-automatic action.

What size bullet does a 50cal take?

If you mean a 50 caliber gun, it takes a 50 caliber bullet, but there are a couple of different kinds. Are you referring to a rifle or a handgun? If you are talking about a handgun like a desert eagle then it is a 12.7x33 in metric, .50AE standard. If you are talking about a rifle then it can be 12.7x99 in metric, .50BMG standard used in rifles like the M-82 or it can be a 12.7x108 metric used in rifles like the Gepard M-1. Also the bore in all the .50's is really .511.

Are desert eagles legal in Australia?

Desert Eagles are legal here in Australia, but only up to.44 Magnum. The ever popular .50AE is not legal for general population usage, eventhough there are a couple of "Come and try shooting" Ranges that do have them to shoot. In any event, you need to be H Catagory licenced, and have your club approve you for a class C Firearm (>.38 but less than .45)

How large will cause damage to the human body 12.7 mm projectile?

It depends on the specific cartridge. 12.7mm is equivalent to .50 calibre. A .50 AE (12.7x33) cartridge (as used in the Desert Eagle .50AE) will leave a very large crush cavity (damage caused by the projectile itself), but won't generate significant hydrostatic pressure (caused by air displacement around the moving projectile). A 12.7mm cartridge as used in the 12.7x99 (.50 BMG) or 12.7x108 cartridge, on the other, could take off a limb.
