Columbus, and all educated Europeans of his time, already knew that the Earth was round. That required no voyage for proof.
The trade routes to Asia via the east were controlled by the Turks (via land) and the Portuguese (for the sea route, so Columbus proposed sailing west to reach Asia.
His problem was that his estimate of the size of the Earth was incorrect, so when he reached land in the Caribbean, and later on the American continent, he knew how far he had sailed and thought he had reached Asia.
-earth is round -discovered America
Although, Christopher Columbus is credited as being the first European to explore the Americas, it is a generally accepted fact that he was not the first person on Earth to have set foot there. Indigenous natives were originally from the Americas, in effect "getting them there first".
Nothing. Columbus did not discover that the earth was round. It had been known for centuries.
COlumbus sailed west because he wanted to find an alternative trade route to Asia, and to get riches and treasures for both Spain and himself.
Christopher Columbus was against the idea that the earth is flat. He tried to sail around the world to prove it. Instead of reaching India (as was his intent), he was the second person (Leif Erikson was the first in 1002.) in 1492 to discover the Americas. He made four more voyages afterwards.
christopher Columbus was trying to discover another route for going to the India. So he went in ship to America, but he thought America was India.
-earth is round -discovered America
Columbus did the most to prove the earth was shaped like a ball. He did this by sailing to America, and proving to Europe that the world was not flat. Edit: a lot of people think that, but it was established by the Ancient Greeks about 1800 years earlier.
America. The most honor land on earth.
Columbus said the earth was sphere when he traveled to America
The earth was bigger than most people thought ,Columbus did not reach Asia he landed were no one has discovered.

he didn't- he sailed to the Americas (accidentally) in 1498 (Columbus "discovered" the West Indies in 1492, but didn't discover the mainland of the America's until his third voyage in 1498) btw Galileo discovered that the earth was round
