Nope. I sent the form two times already and still nothing. I was able to claim for one week, never received a check and was never able to claim another week. I've tried to call several times and it's always busy or off the hook. Also, I believe they were closed the day after Christmas and New Years. Yesterday I sent an email to Bill Nelson's office and did not receive an answer. I have also emailed the US Department of Labor telling them what I've going through. Maybe they are using the money for something else.

~November 5th 2009 Florida Unemployment got extended again.

Check eligibility here: https://www2.myflorida.com/flccid/elg_init.asp Check claim remaining here: https://www2.myflorida.com/flccid/

Eligibility is VERY COMPLEX.

THEY are still figuring out the programming and it will be in early December.

Florida needs to interpret the (confusing) Federal guidelines.

For those on EB or EUC....YOUR benefits MAY be automatically extended...as the new benefits MAY be appended.

For others deemed eligible LETTERS will be issued in December..for claims retroactive to 11-14-2009.

Two Types of benefits besides regular Unemployment 26 weeks:

Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) - providing 47 weeks of emergency benefits
Extended Benefits (EB) - providing 20 weeks of extended benefits.

It is important to note that each program has its own time frames and deadlines, and therefore, not all claimants are eligible for the full 47 weeks of Emergency Benefits and the 20 weeks of Extended Benefits. See below for the breakdown of each program, and important information and dates related to each: (see chart on maximum number of potential weeks)

Emergency Benefits are provided under the Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) Program. There are currently three (3) tiers of EUC, providing a total of 47 weeks of emergency benefits:

Tier 1 (20 weeks) - to be eligible for Emergency Benefits under Tier 1, an individual must:

Have filed initial claim for regular unemployment effective on or before Monday, June 22, 2009.
Exhaust regular benefits on or before the week ending December 27, 2009
Start claiming Emergency Benefits on or before week ending January 3, 2010.

Tier 2 (14 weeks) - to be eligible for Emergency Benefits under Tier 2, an individual must:

Have filed initial claim for regular unemployment effective on or before Monday, February 2, 2009.
Exhaust all 20 weeks of Tier 1 Emergency Benefits on or before week ending December 27, 2009.
Start claiming Tier 2 Emergency Benefits on or before week ending January 3, 2010.

Tier 3 (13 weeks) - to be eligible for Emergency Benefits under Tier 3, an individual must:

Have filed initial claim for regular unemployment effective on or before Monday, November 3, 2008.
Exhaust at least 33 weeks of Emergency Benefits (20 weeks Tier 1 and the first 13 weeks of Tier 2) on or before week ending December 27, 2009. Because of time lines under the current federal legislation, some individuals start receiving Tier 3 Emergency Benefits right after exhausting Tier 2 Emergency Benefits, while others start receiving Tier 3 Emergency Benefits right after exhausting Extended Benefits. The reason for this is:

If you claimed at least one week of Extended Benefits by week ending November 8, 2009, you will continue claiming remaining Extended Benefits before you can start claiming additional emergency benefits.
If by week ending November 8, 2009, you had not claimed any Extended Benefits, you will then continue claiming any additional Emergency Benefits available to you, and will not be eligible for Extended Benefits.

** Note: The last payable week of Emergency Benefits is the week ending June 6, 2010.

Extended Benefits are provided under the Extended Benefits (EB) Program. There are currently 20 weeks of Extended Benefits available. However, to be eligible for any Extended Benefits, the individual must:

Have filed their initial claim for regular unemployment benefits effective on or before Monday, September 8, 2008.
Exhaust 33 weeks of Emergency Benefits on or before week ending November 1, 2009.
Start claiming Extended Benefits on or before week ending November 8, 2009.

** Note: The last payable week of Extended Benefits is the week ending January 3, 2010. * An Original Claim's (OC) effective date is the Monday of the week in which the claim is filed.

Emergency Unemployment Compensation Tier 3 (EUC 3) Information Page

The President signed Emergency Unemployment Compensation Tier 3 (EUC3) into law effective
November 8, 2009.

You may not be currently eligible for EUC3 because you still have benefits available on a Regular, EUC1, EUC2 or EB claim.

  • If you exhaust your regular UC benefits on or before the week ending December 19, 2009, you would qualify for EUC1.
  • If you exhaust your EUC1 benefits on or before the week ending December 26, 2009, you would qualify for EUC2.
  • If you exhaust your EUC2 benefits before our EUC3 programming is complete, we will automatically establish an EUC3 claim for you when the programming is complete and we will send you a determination notice of benefits.
  • If you are currently receiving EB benefits, we will automatically establish an EUC3 claim for you when the programming is complete and we will send you a determination notice of benefits. Any EB benefits paid for weeks after November 8, 2009 will be deducted from your EUC3 benefits.
  • We are currently working on the programming that will allow us to set up and pay EUC3 benefits and expect it to be completed by early December.

You may NOT be eligible for this program if:

  • You do not have a Florida eligible claim effective on or after May 6, 2006. Click here to file a new Florida Claim.
  • You have filed a claim against another state. Contact that state for possible eligibility for EUC3.

  • Return To The Florida Jobs Website.
The max weeks depends on when you started claiming.

If your *OC was effective May 1, 2006 - June 23, 2008
your max weeks can be as high as 93 or 99. 26 weeks of regular UI
20 weeks of EUC-Tier 1
13 weeks of EUC-Tier 2
20 weeks of EB
14 weeks of EUC
(13 weeks Tier 3 and 1 week Tier 2)
93 weeks total or perhaps 6 weeks, 99 possible * An Original Claim's (OC) effective date is the Monday of the week in which the claim is filed.

UI = Regular Unemployment Insurance Benefits
EUC = Emergency Unemployment Compensation
EB= Extended Benefits
For those with a later original claim date, max weeks are reduced...and you may not qualify for the latest extension if you still are receiving and earlier one? WHY? because you are not the "long term unemployed"...targeted.

*OC effective Sept. 15, 2008 - Nov. 3, 2008 26 weeks of regular UI
20 weeks of EUC-Tier 1
13 weeks of EUC-Tier 2
14 weeks of EUC
(13 weeks Tier 3 and 1 week Tier 2)

73 weeks total

In Texas can you apply for Social Security Disability while drawing Florida State Unemployment?

The issue is not with Texas, but with Florida. Florida might charge you with unemployment fraud because you would be drawing their benefits AND the Fed's SSDI. The Social Security Administration investigates very thoroughly before awarding their benefit. If THEY said you wouldn't be able to work due to a disability, Florida's requirements might be violated. If you qualify for SSDI, check to see if you should cancel Florida's benefits.
