France did not offer the Statue of Liberty to Ottoman empire. It was not belong to France to make such an offer. It was originally financed by Ottoman sultan

Abdulaziz and was built by Frederic Bertholly in France for the inauguration of the Suez Canal in Egypt. However , after Egypt has won its independence from Ottoman Empire new ruler objected the statue for religious reasons and statue

remained in France. 10 years later , by changing some part of the statue it was

sent to the USA as a gift on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the USA.

I do not understand why there is an unreasonable denial of the historical

background of the statue.
