Henry VIII wanted to marry Catherine of Aragon. After the death of Arthur Henry VII did not want Catherine or the money she brought to leave England so she was engaged to marry Henry. Henry VII however realized that Henry could contract a better marriage so there were talks that he would be engaged to one of Catherine's neices who was the daughter of Joanna of Castile and her husband Phillip the son of the Holy Roman Emperor.
They married because Henry VII got her and prince Arthur to marry so that England would get more money however Arthur died only a few days after the marriage Henry did not want to lose the money so he got Henry VIII to marry her. However in order for this to happen Henry VII had to give the pope a indulgence payment.
No she was not. She had been married to Henry VIII for at least 21 years and had one live daughter with him and many more pregnancies. He saved her after by marrying her after his father died and it looked like she would be left in England with no family and almost no money and then he goes and deserts her for a commoner who was half her age.
Catherine of Aragon came to England to become the wife of Arthur, the son of Henry VII. They were married only a short time before he died however. For the next 8 years Catherine lived in England, but she was in limbo with not much money. When Henry VII died in 1509 Henry VII died and Arthur's brother Henry VIII became King. Shortly afterward they got married and lived together until 1532. For the next four years Catherine lived apart from Henry and their daughter Mary. In January of 1536 she died of Cancer.
The main reason that Henry VIII broke from the Church of Rome was that he believed that he needed a son to make sure that the Tudor dynasty survived. In those days there could not be a queen so Mary could not rule. However, there were also other reasons which included that Henry needed money to become more powerful in Europe. The Church had lots of money. Henry wanted to control the Church to make himself more powerful and rich. As Henry's reign progressed it became more likely that he would break with Rome. This was partly because Catherine bore Henry six children - five died (two of which were boys) and one survived, Mary. Since Catherine had failed to produce a male heir Henry was getting worried. But added to this Henry thought that God had punished him for marrying his brother's wife and he thought that was the reason he got still born children. He then met Anne Boleyn who came up to him and told him she was pregnant with his child. Henry wanted to marry her before the child was born because he thought she will give birth to a boy.
Yes Anne Boleyn did have money. She was in the French court just before she came to England and her father had married a Howard (A very rich and well known family).

Henry VIII's break with the Catholic Church was driven by his desire to divorce his first wife, Catherine of Aragon, and marry Anne Boleyn. Closing the monasteries was part of his larger campaign to assert his control over the church in England and seize their wealth and properties. This led to the dissolution of the monasteries and the establishment of the Church of England with the English monarch as its head.

Henry VIII defeated the French in 1513 at the Battle of the Spurs. His wife Catherine of Aragon , under Henry's command, defeated the Scottish King James VI at Flodden in 1513. Scotland tried to invade England in 1513 because they knew Henry was in France. The Scottish were defeated and James IV was killed, his blood stained coat was sent to Henry, by Catherine, as a gift. Henry is credited as one of the founders of the English navy. He invested a huge amount of money into securing England's naval power and ships such as The Mary Rose were constructed during this period.
